Changelog #36 - The first public changelog


Yesterday was an important day, I announced the trailer and published a Steam page, got some questions and discussions. I’m especially happy about my post on /r/4Xgaming gaining a lot of upvotes and making on top of their main page. I will be thankful if you retweet this.

Back to the main topic, it’s really inspiring to write changelogs, so I’ll post them periodically. Open full post to read it!

  • Changed world structure placement algorithm to be spread structures more evenly across the map
  • One music track is updated
  • Aggro distance is now limited by 12 tiles
  • Movement speed is now limited by 6 tiles per subturn
  • Language can now be changed in settings and immediately reflected in game
    • By the way, I’m amazed how good localization system in UE4 is
    • Translated a small fraction into my native language
  • New mechanic of soft population limit
    • Instead of food production percentage reduction, new creatures now cost more food for every new creature
    • This have been tested for quite a while and feels better and more obvious
  • Creatures can now step into nearest tile with dropped weapon and pick it up
    • This is true for Distorted too, meaning that on mistake you can lose faster to invading creeps
  • Better notifications for:
    • stopped production -_-
    • attack -_-
    • hunger -_-
    • death -_-
    • level up and some more
  • Esc now closes windows and space ends turn
  • Improved server code
    • More server calls are async
  • Optimizations, fixes
  • New bugs
